I think it's probably because I've been watching The Breakfast Club and this song is played at the end, but I've got Don't You (Forget About Me) by Simple Minds going as my theme song right now. I have been doing a bit of thinking about the "shoulda" "woulda" and "coulda"'s as well as trying to keep some old friendships going, so this song is fitting. Here are the lyrics:

Hey, hey, hey ,hey
Ohhh...

Won't you come see about me?
I'll be alone, dancing you know it baby

Tell me your troubles and doubts
Giving me everything inside and out and
Love's strange so real in the dark
Think of the tender things that we were working on

Slow change may pull us apart
When the light gets into your heart, baby

Don't You Forget About Me
Don't Don't Don't Don't
Don't You Forget About Me

Will you stand above me?
Look my way, never love me
Rain keeps falling, rain keeps falling
Down, down, down

Will you recognise me?
Call my name or walk on by
Rain keeps falling, rain keeps falling
Down, down, down, down

Hey, hey, hey, hey
Ohhhh.....

Don't you try to pretend
It's my feeling we'll win in the end
I won't harm you or touch your defenses
Vanity and security

Don't you forget about me
I'll be alone, dancing you know it baby
Going to take you apart
I'll put us back together at heart, baby

Don't You Forget About Me
Don't Don't Don't Don't
Don't You Forget About Me

As you walk on by
Will you call my name?
As you walk on by
Will you call my name?
When you walk away

Or will you walk away?
Will you walk on by?
Come on - call my name
Will you all my name?

I say :
La la la...
When you walk on by...
And you call my name...
oh girlie... i was in highschool when that movie came out (yes.... i am older than dirt) and i loved that song. the group that sings it is Simple Minds. i saw them in concert at the Wang Center in Boston in 1985. they were incredible.

so now the secret is out.
dulcamatrix is an ancient throwback from the '80s.
sometimes i still get the urge to peg my pants.

lol.

I'm a bit older than most people realize. I'm not a complete 80's throw back, but I did have some very tall hair and I did tight roll my pants! Hehehe! You aren't alone in that "older than dirt" catergory! 0_o
BIG HAIR!
hahahahahahaha!

in my circle of friends, we called it "the wall of hair".
and i am sad to admit that my wall pretty much took over the school. heck, it took over the damn town.

did you ever own legwarmers?
*bites lip in embarrassment*
M3
Shore 'nuff! I even did the double color where I'd put it like pink on top/purple on bottom on my left leg and then put purple on top/pink on bottom on my right leg!!!! =D
looking back, i have to admit (for myself mandy, not for you!) that legwarmers were a sad commentary on the 80's. even then i knew that. i had one pair and they matched my freaking school uniform.... navy blue. completely used for functional reasons... the damn school was an air tunnel in the winter.

now outside of school and the uniform, well i was a nut case.
camoflage pants.
spiked hair.
and i had a little braided tail that started at the nape of my neck and went down past my hiney. had the crazy thing for SEVEN years. the hair dresser had to convince me to cut it off when i was in my twenties. that was how stuck i was in the 80's. sigh.

did you have clothes in every color of the neon rainbow?
lol
M3
YOU HAD A BRAIDED TAIL!?!? OMFG!!! STFU!!!! I HAD ONE OF THOSE!!!! I had leg warmers to match my cheerleading outfit and I wasn't even a real cheerleader! I had the equivilant to a girl's mullet. Top of my hair was spiked, the back was long(ish) and then I had the tail. I will so have to find a picture and send it to you! You'll laugh your ass off! The 80's kicked ass! As for neon, I think I still have at least 2 of my neon shirts! Neon rocked my socks, oh wait, that would have been leg warmers! ^.^

not only did i have a braided tail, but i used to attach things to the end of it... pins, beads, and feathers, but my all time FAVE FAVE FAVE thing i put on it was this little plastic baby (like the kind you get on baby shower favors). a totally stolen concept from "slash" on the tv show "square pegs". (gawd that show was a parallel to my life at that time!)

i was so not in with the cheerleading crowd during H.S... (which is really funny, because i became a cheerleading coach at 18 yrs old and coached for literally 17 years. until i moved to NH.)

and let me just stand up next to you pal, because it looks like we had the same freaking hair cut... spiky top, longish back. made my mother cry. lmao.
LONG LIVE THE FEMALE MULLET!
